Patti I agree if I only lived within driving distance when I was there I had MA all to myself for a few hours that was fun, they were having a hosta sale that day and there were people everywhere but no one was looking at all the bloom in there fields so it was nice to be able to take my time and walk it.
Omigosh -- each one is more amazing than the next.
Yes -- 4R and 5L would have to be my picks of this group. But 3L is wonderful, and 2L and 2R are beautiful Irises that would look fantastic in a clump.
Just incredible the way these beauties just keep coming and coming.

Last year when I went to MA it was raining, and had been raining (what's new?) and the fields were so muddy I left with about 2" of mud stuck to my boots! But hey! I had it all to myself!
Thanks All glad you are all enjoying them hopefully we will see some of them make the cut this was one of my favorite group of seedlings 2R and 6L were my favorites.
Patty we are counting on you for lot's of pictures
1L ... I didn't like it at first but the more I look at it the more I like it.
Brad ~ Are you coming out this year? I love taking pics and Keith said I can snap away! Plus I don't even have to pull weeds! Such a deal! Now to master my camera...
Patti was not planning on Oregon this year because the AIS convention is there the following year and I need to attend one, as of now we are just planning on going to California in April and visiting a few of the growers there from what I hear they all seem to have peak bloom about a week apart but this year it sounds like the drought and heat has made there season start early so who knows, if there is enough of a gap in-between, I may make it back to Salem after all this year, there are still some other nurseries in the area that I have not been to yet, and we want to go to the Oregon Garden in SIlverton again for a day it was awesome !! also want to make time to go to Snowpeak and see D's gardens and what she is working on I like her new intro's this year so at this point still to early to call but a possibility as of now.
Mary Ann glad you liked them I thought I would share some clump pictures tonight when I told you I thought Schreiners grows 10000 bulbs before they introduce one, I was serious the last few pictures are just a portion of there seedlings patch, imagine coming out every morning during bloom season and being able to walk through these and pick out your favorites, now that would be fun !! until it came time to have to move them all and then you would need a army to help
Oh my is right -- that is a sight to see! The sixth Iris down is gorgeous -- the clump is wonderful, but upclose is even better! I also love 8R -- the beard is a stand-out on that blue and white! What a joy it must be to see these in person -- how I envy those of you who get to go there.

Wow, I love clump shots and I agree these are amazing, All of them are gorgeous but my favorite is 4L, you are so lucky to get to see all of these in person.
Thanks all!!! You guys must make that trip some year it is mandatory for all Iris addicts to see Salem in spring time at least once and it sounds like the next couple years will be great with the TBIS this year and AIS convention next year.
Patty sounds good if we don't make it this year you will have to help with the pictures next winter The trick is to just take lots
For me, Salem is gonna be in Iowa this year. Praying I can get there!!!
Well -- you won't hear me saying this very often -- but my favorite of this group is the purple Iris, #1R. I think this Iris is exquisite -- elegant, ruffled beauty. And I love the lavender stripe down the center of the fall.
I also admire 7L -- but hope that the standards are tighter for the most part. I do not like floppy standards.
The two white Irises are beautiful, but I don't see anything in them that is an improvement over Nordica, which I already have. Maybe if I saw them in person.............
With all of these beautiful Irises that Brad has shown us, I'm at the point now where I'm trying to just figure out which ones I would actually spend money on to have in my garden. Otherwise, I'd just have them all!!!

I'm liking 3L too...the veining in the falls is nice. And 4L is pretty, but either are ones I'd add to my garden. I planted Absolute Treasure last year and can't wait to see it!
