I got into miniature gardens when we did an exhibit a few years ago for our local community plant sale. I found I just loved it! Such fun to get the creative juices going. I now make them every year for the sale. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of all of them but thought I'd share a few.

Thanks, everyone. I have made all kinds of mini gardens. My husband and I like to go "junking" in the winter and look for little 25 and 50 cent items to use. The house in the last picture I picked up on one of these excursions. It is this really wonderful little willow barn with a pen on the side and a thatched roof. Really well made and one of a kind as far as I know. Here are a couple more.

They are so just adorable! I love the "steps" in your first one. You've got a real knack for putting these together.

What did you use to keep the soil in the pot in the very first picture. The reason I ask is I just happen to have a broken pot sitting out on the storage bench and thought I'd make good use of it.

Hi, mjsponies. In short: soil. I build a garden like that one from the bottom up and keep the soil damp (wet but not soaking) as I move up. I also wet the soil solidly after I have built a section.
