Is there anyway I can send in a edit of an existing entries, to have the entry changed so that the Genus and species show up first, and common name second , ( i can't see now to do it )

That's not something that can be changed on a plant-by-plant basis.

We've had discussions about changing the way plant names are shown. Is it time to revisit that? Does anyone feel strongly about it one way or the other?

I'd find it very useful to be able to specify that a search would give results that are ordered alphabetically by the latin name, rather than by the common name. (The common names result in a very jumbled list.) Would that ability address the point you are making, Bootandall?

I used to think that I preferred the genus and species listed first and then the common name, but I've gotten used to our current database arrangement and find it very easy to type in either a genus or common name to find the plant I'm looking for.

yes lori..... now days I prefer Latin I find it easy to find a listed plant when I have a photo to add , i do not no some of the common names other places have, even the NZ ones can be different to how I know them.. Dave... it would be great, if we could look from both angles .
