Can't seem to post pictures this morning. When I push the upload pics button nothing is happening. I have posted pics on two other Gardening sites this morning without trouble so I wondered if it was a site problem or just me and my limited tech abilities.

That's strange. Have you made any recent changes to your computer or browser?

Yes, We have a new lap top and I would think it should be an issue with me and my new computer but I haven't had trouble with the other sites so I thought maybe not.

It's a problem with the lap top but I am not sure why. The house computer is posting pictures just fine to your site. The lap top is posting pic's just fine to the other sites but not yours. So it is something between your site and the lap top. Just doesn't do anything when I click on the Upload an image button. The Preview and Finished buttons work just fine.

The button relies on javascript to be running in order to work.

I'm not computer smart, but I had to fix 'compatability view' in order to upload photos.

I have installed Java 7.1 on the lap top and confirmed it. Since the laptop is running Windows 8.1, I understand there is a compatibility issue and Java cannot be run on desktop but can be run in the browser??greene you've got me scratchin' my noggin, where do you find, compatability view?

I have to use small words because I am old and slow and not a computer genius.
I bring up the home page (mine is Google), locate the tool icon, click it, see a list, click on 'Compatability View Settings'.

It took me three weeks to learn how to find the darn thing. I hope it works for you.

Java is completely different from JavaScript, actually. In fact, the two are hardly related to each other.

The latter is the one that is required for almost all functionality on the web, including the upload system here at ATP. The former isn't required at all.

In most browsers there is a checkbox in the preferences to enable or disable Javascript. Just make sure that's enabled. You don't have to install anything.

I'm curious, Ric: on this computer that can't upload photos: can it give thumbs?
