Nice Hyacinth, and I love that daffodil. Which one is it?

I'll have to check and see if I've ever planted Fortissimo.

Here are today's bloom. These pictures were taken at dusk.

My front street bed is waking up. It's my little vignette with Narcissus Little Gem, the giant crocus mix, Hyacinth Woodstock, and the Red Hot tulip mix. I can't wait to see it come together.

I love those little crocus and iris, I don't have any, I must plant some like that next year. I was just thinking about when to plant bulbs, and I think the first week in November would be good. That way I could still see the other plants and have some idea where to put the bulbs.

Crocus tommasinianus 'Lilac Beauty' are some of my favorites, and they're photogenic too :-)

Yes--crocus are some of the best for those of us that cannot wait another minute for some early spring color Smiling
Plus they are so forgiving and gently multiply

Well, those first ones mean the spring show will soon get started. I planted thousands of crocus last fall so it should be really nice.

I had dozens of crocus vernus pop up, re-volunteering after around 3 years in the same bed, and I was eager to get photos when they opened.

But they never opened! The blooms stayed closed for around two weeks, and then wilted after several days in a row of more rain than usual.

What would make a whole bed throw up lots of blooms, but let NONE of them open up?

We haven't had any very warm days, and very few sunny days, but neither has there been much frost lately that I recall.

I know they all opened the first spring after I planted bulbs. I think they opened the seocnd year, and I forget last year.

Rick, They sell them here in So. Cal, and I tried them once. They are annuals here. Most bulbs just won't take warm, wet winters. Most daffs do well here, but tulips and crocus , not so much. I came here from eastern Wa, and I really miss the spring bulbs, but not enough to plant them every fall. Shrug!
