The fourth plant from HCG looks just as good as the first three from HCG. It came yesterday.

These are the 8 plants from Select Seeds & Plants that came yesterday.

I had already pinched back a few of the plants before I took pics.

Actually, after I ordered on 1/29, they sent the plants in Feb. Blinking I got a box from them on 2/21 and emailed them right away on the 21st. I wrote.....

"I just looked in my mailbox and saw a box with your company name on it.

I didn’t specify a ship date YET and I sure don’t want it shipped now in Winter to northern KY! I haven’t opened the box and I’m not going to go to the post office to ship it back to you.

I can’t believe y’all would ship it without a ship date and to KY in Winter! We still have snow on the ground and we are zone 6a! I want my complete order shipped in the Spring.

I still have to get back to you on the ship date.

On your website, you state,
WE CAN HOLD YOUR ORDER UNTIL YOU ARE READY FOR US TO SHIP.

You even stated to me, “Send me a date that you want us to ship.”

I don’t want my credit card charged twice either! I’m upset about this.

Please respond."

Margaret Morris wrote back the same day.....

"Hi tell me what your ordered. Don't send it back it was our fault it got put in the wrong stack. Take it out of the box and keep it watered. If it survives you'll have 2 of each. Tell me when you want this sent out again no charge and we will ship it out again. Sorry!"

I then wrote back to ship 4/21/14.

I emailed her tonight......

"Margaret,

I requested a ship date of April 21 and as of tonight, April 26-27, I haven’t received my plants and want to know why.

Please ship Monday, April 28 ,

Please respond ASAP!"

Hopefully, she'll respond on Sunday or Monday at the latest and ship on Monday. I'll let you know.

I have to double check that they didn't charge my card twice. I'm pretty sure that I did check in Feb., but I'm going to check again. The plants they sent in Feb. are small starter plants (plugs?), but looked ok.

I emailed back, "I'm sorry for your loss. Thanks!"

I'll let you know when I get the plants. Thumbs up

Danita said:Marilyn, Would you mind giving us an update when you get your Morris Nursery plants?
They had a few things that looked tempting (and cheap) but I'm having to be stingy with the budget and don't want to waste $ on a bad company.

Have you ever ordered from Kartuz?

Thanks! Smiling

Sorry that I didn't post this sooner. *Blush*

I got the plants at the end of the week of 4/28. They are all plugs/starter plants. They sent an extra Salvia Coral Nymph (Salvia Coccinea). Since they sent them a week later than I originally wanted, they'll end up going into containers a little later than I wanted. I potted them up into 4 inch square pots to get rooted enough for large containers. I forgot to take pics when they came, but I'll do that this weekend. They're looking a lot better now than when they arrived. As I looked at the calendar today, I notice that they've been here and potted up for a week now. Hopefully, I can take a look at the roots and see if they're ready to go into containers. I want to get the Porterweeds growing and blooming for the Hummers.

Thanks Marilyn! Big Grin I was actually going to ask you about that today. So, it sounds like you weren't particularly impressed with their plants. Perhaps Accents/Peppers would be a better source?

Thanks again!

I've already been thinking to go back to Almost Eden http://almostedenplants.com/sh... and get them. I'll pay more, but I can plant them in the container and they'll be flowering sooner. They in small pots at Almost Eden, but they're already rooted and ready to plant into containers. Thumbs up

The plants (plugs) at Morris were not in pots when I got them. They were wrapped in newspaper.

http://garden.org/reviews/view...

I'll let you know from when these plants are planted into containers to flowering time.

I'll have to T-mail Susan (virginiarose) and ask her about the plants she got from Accents/Peppers last year and how they did last Summer.

Here's her review and pics. She said they were in 4x4 pots, which is good.

I took 2 pics of the Morris Nursery plants I got.

Left to right (looking at the pics are)....

Coral Porterweed (front & back)

Pentas Butterfly Pink (middle by itself)

Salvia Coral Nymph (front & back)

I tried to see if I could get one of the Coral Porterweed out of the pot, but it wouldn't budge, so I didn't try the other plants.

Unfortunately, it might be another week before I can plant these.

We are supposed to go back down to low 40s at night mid week thru next weekend. I don't dare plant out until end of May this year. At least I'm getting some days where I don't have to roll the ghetto into the garage!
