Is that plant growing outside, and is it vine-like, growing on a trellis? My first thought was possibly a yellow form of "Cape Honeysuckle" (Tecomaria capensis lutea) or possibly a Gelsemium of some sort ... then I thought maybe Lupinus luteus ... but it's really hard to tell. Green Grin!

Lori, that's it...thank you.

No, it's not a vining plant, a lot of the plants there were protected by wire, apparently from deer. I've not grown berberis, but wouldn't think that it would be desirable to deer. Since we've been here for a couple of months now, I'm finding lot of plants previously unfamiliar to me. I think I like this one! I will have to check it out as I will be doing new landscaping and it's a new learning curve here...lol...

Thank you all...I'm afraid that I was not diligent about size reference, etc.....I had not planned on submitting it for ID and my back was killing me, just wanted to go sit down....lol..

Going from dry, no frost at all Southern California, 60 miles North of the Southern Border...to 60-70 inches of rain Northern California, 20 miles South of the Oregon border...I'm finding myself constantly saying Wow! What is that?
