David, can you tell us a bit about some of the plants and bushes in your Feb 27 post?

I don't know about others, but knowing something about what we are looking at might get more conversation going. I admit to being horrible at recognizing most plants at a distance. I'm especially interested in pictures 1, 4, and the last one.

It's a new Pink Guava tree just trimmed put in last year behind the birdbath below. Behind it is a recently trimmed Poincettia and next to it is a Milkweed. The Iresine will be chopped soon and cuttings will be made, and I will likely fill the bottom bleak area with my much loved favorite Coleus' ready to plant!

This picture is cool too!

The tree with the orange balls is a Chaste Tree. It will soon be covered in long spikey Lavender like spikes. It produces edible mild peppercorns that medieval monks believed kept them 'chaste'? Blinking

The peppercorns are not bad at all, yet I rarely use them, and cannot attest to this ancient belief. Hilarious!

It is fabulous in bloom though Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

I love your gardens! It is hard for me to imagine all of the color of plants and trees that are blooming there as all I have blooming or even green for that matter is some crocus and snow drops.

I'm waiting for the Amaranthus house sentinels or have they disappeared forever? Big Grin

What are the light pink flowers in this first picture?
Any chance you have any close-ups of them?

Beautiful close ups of your oleander flowers. Sorry, I can't recognize anything but colors in pictures of gardens. My eyes are really getting worse quickly these days.

I love the color pink but don't have any pink flowers in my garden at the moment. I bought an oleander bush last year, but I got rid of it quickly after learning they are poisonous. I didn't have room for it in my fenced veggie and herb garden. It never grew enough to see any blooms. I will probably end up planting a couple salvias in the spot where the oleander was, if I get a chance.

Well. Its well past Summer and the end of another year. Things are going dormant around here, but we can always find something pretty in our gardens if we look for it even in Winter. I don't garden much in Winter. I let it do its thing. Smiling

These pictures were all mostly taken yesterday or a few days ago. If anyone would like to see them I posted a lot here:

Grow well in your Cottage Gardens this New Year! May your gardens be a blessed peaceful place that makes you and yours happy!
