My Passion flower in the usual British rain. It is very hot here and humid, temperatures in the 80-90 F. Lots of rain showers as well so lots of WEEDS!
Regards to all, from a most sultry England.
Neil.

It is so hot here and the humidity a killer, It rained last night which allowed me to get some cementing (concreting), done. The wife's cats then decided to walk over my freshly laid cement. Paw prints all over.
Everywhere we have been together in the UK, we have collected a single rock or pebble, stone, or a piece of gravel. So my Sempervivums rockery is taking place. From; Yorkshire limestone, Dorset rose rock and fossils, Scottish granite, cobbles from Cornwall, cave rock to river washed gravel from Hampshire etc. etc., are all a part of it. Of course we have always asked, and been given permission to take even the smallest item.
One must never steal from the wild.
I have aged most of the stone by using boiled rice water. I was taught this by a great gardener friend of mine. You throw away the water from boiled rice but; if used wisely and poured over rocks or indeed garden ornaments, stone ones of course. Smiling The starch in the rice water then seems to bind Lichens. Lichens are what we call a species indicator. Which basically means that these amazingly beautiful composite organisms; which cannot tolerate too much pollution, will tell us if the air we rely on is safe. Of course there are lots of other indicators that are natural, that tell us things.

We have lichens all over the rock lining the driveway & trees. So I can guess we will breathe easily. ☺ I still have asthma.

Dear all, the first Semps. for my rice water stones. I have no idea as for their names as they were a job lot selection from a nursery! Nice though!
Regards to all on this marvelous forum, from a very wet and humid England,
Neil.

Historic irises--really old are going into day. these are dwarfs which came from a historic garden sale. It is best if they can be in different gardens. Bright golden rod starting to bloom in different parts of the garden.

Lord Neil,

The castle looks wonderful and I would love the jousting. Let the better man win.

I am, however, in another castle of sorts. It is 53 stories high. I am on the 36th flor and have a beautiful view of Chicago. I have meals prepared for me And maid service. I have the city of Chivo at my feet for what ever I want or just a stroll. I have Hansom cabs at the next corner for my pleasure. What more could a lady ask for? I am truly blessed.

I, however, an not looking forwards to winter!

Such is life.

Love and Hugs,

Lady Nancy

My Semps.I ordered got stuck in the post for a month and a half in a cardboard box! Poor things they were, when they finally got here. However some other ones arrived on time.
Now planted some look sad and the others are OK! Idea for Semps. do not leave them in a cardboard box for a month and a half, before they are delivered.
Group hug
Neil.
