I'll try to count. I can hear them in the 'hood but, I haven't tried to see them or find them.
When I lived at Tapatio they would fly through my yard several times a day and sometimes stay awhile.

No big colony near me either, there are about 6 or so just west of me and a few that hang out at the PO but that's it.

At my old house there were probably over 100 flying by constantly. I could see them sitting on a split rail fence all in a row just like little jewels. They favored sitting in a tree at the 9th green at Tapatio. So pretty. I guess it's all about what they favor at habitat.

No lovebirds in my neighborhood. Occasional parakeets, but no lovebirds.

Yes, the map is really kewl. the nearest siting is about two miles from me, so they are getting closer.

That map is astounding. My former Doctor, now retired, lived in their original neighborhood and was quite involved in feeding and nurturing them.
There are none out here in west Glendale yet, but I am wondering what effect they are having on other (native) birds as they expand their territory?

I recall reading something in the past year that suggests they are having little affect on any native populations. Their possible territory is limited, of course, they will stay in warmer areas to keep from freezing in winter.
