I've just ordered some Moraea tortilis seeds, at least the catalogue said seeds, but from what I've read online they are bulbous plants? Has anyone grown Moraea tortilis from seed? There doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there other than they should be sown in Autumn in a well draining mix, which means I'm going to have to wait a while to plant them, but at least it'll give me time to try and do a bit of research into them.
Does anyone know the best way of storing them until planting? With most other seeds I'd keep them in the fridge, will that be ok with these?
I'm hoping that by next summer I'll have a lovely baby succulent a bit like this one!

I've never seen these... Drooling
What do the seeds look like in comparison to semp seeds? I know what semps seeds look like (and I know you know) so I can compare.
I have my semp seeds in the vegetable bin in fridge but don't know anything about what to do w/MT seeds...Sorry, Kate. *Blush*

I've no idea what they look like Bev, I've only just placed the order. They are coming from South Africa so I'll probably have to wait for a couple of weeks for them to arrive.

Something to look forward to and in the meantime you can work with your adorable semps. BTW can I ask you if your Grey Dawn has any fuzziness at all on them? Confused

What a strange, nice plant.

That would be nice in a planter shaped into a head, with those curly locks.

This lady has had the same "do" for couple years now and probably could stand a new "longer look" with the help of the spiral grass.

I agree that grass would look great on her Bev!!!
Kate how cool! I have a feeling since the seeds are coming from SA you would not want to put them in the cold! Also, you could probably start them whenever, since your weather is kind of "Autumie" all year round isn't it?? Whistling

Bev Love your sedum? head!
I checked grey dawn for you and it's more velvety than fuzzy but does have some cilia around the edges of the leaves. I Hope that helps.

Greg, Hilarious! yes I guess our temps could be seen as autumn like compared to SA!

I don't know how many seeds I'll get, but as long as there's a good number I might try starting some when they arrive. Thumbs up

Thanks for checking Kate. Will see if that is available here.
And if I want that new "hair-do" for the head, I'll have to check on that grass too. I just think her having any kind of head cover would be OK. Thought, on her bad hair days, I may have to come up with a "scarf" for her... Hilarious!
