Growing Irises in Spite of Borers

By TBGDN

Iris gardeners encounter many natural enemies of iris plants, such as leaf spot, soft rot, mold, and bacterial infections, but how much do we know about iris borers?

I want to thank each of you individually in person for your thumbs and acorns, but that is not possible! So would you accept a heartfelt THANKS instead? You are all very special and generous.
Thank You!

Interesting. I especially like the graphic pictures. I am having a lot of trouble with leaf rot this year, which starts at the top of the rhizome and works its way up. Not sure if it is caused by borers of not. Do you have any more pics of iris problems?

Caitlin,
Sorry I do not have other pictures of iris problems. It has been a relatively good iris year for me so far in 2016. I am hoping you can find the source of your leaf rot. It almost sounds 'bacterial' in nature, similar to a blight of some kind. Wishing you the best.
