My bloom season started March 26 with Sea Shell Lullaby, followed by Dragonfly Dawn. Both plants came from Michele this fall and they have adapted wonderfully!!

That's a really nice pic of DD. It's going to be late June or July before I see blooms I think. Snow has finally left the yard but it is still relatively cool/cold so things aren't perking up. I've been poking around and I am really beginning to worry about some plants. I'm pretty sure that if I didn't lose entire plants, I've lost multiple fans on some. Oh well, ever onward!

It will at least be mid-June before I see blooms I think.

I too think that I have lost a couple. Marilyn Bradner and Wolf Eyes have not even poked through at all. I can tell that several others are struggling.

Arlene, I would expect that the plants coming from Michele would do well in your garden. They practically walked to your house from hers. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
Lovely blooms!

Mike, I don't think they would considering the walk--it's 493 mi from Michele's home to my home. FL is a BIG state!

Appreciate all the comments ... I'm as anxious as anyone re. bloom season. Usually my garden blooms strong in the 2nd or 3rd weeks of April, but to do that, we need scapes right now. There are pitiful few out there. This year's bloom season will start in the 1st or 2nd weeks of May, I think, but the scapes need to start showing up to make that happen. Here is a picture from my back garden from last week. Sorta does look like spring.

Arlene, I was just being funny. I didn't look up the location to make a educated comment. Garden is looking good, love those palms. A friend of mine bought some that are hardy to zone five. We will see what happen after this winter. Might convince me to get one or two.

I've had that Robellini for 20 yr. In Marietta, GA, it was my Christmas tree. We had to very carefully decorate it--it has huge thorns! What kind of palm is hardy to zone 5?

Mike, I knew you were joking, but distances in FL are deceiving. We are centrally located in the state, which means it's quite a drive to get anywhere. Love this location, though.

Lovely garden Arlene, looks so tropical. Reminds me of our
Florida vacations years ago. Love the palms.
