I heard the first spring songs from the cardinals yesterday.
I have at least 30 birds that regularly feed at my feeders in the winter
when they start to sing the males don't get along any more and leave .


this photo has red in the trees 10 + males , the females are almost impossible to see in the photo

They are the most common birds in my gardens year round down here. No need to work at getting them here!

Those of us who live in Florida are very lucky to have these birds year round. They are some of the friendliest and most trusting birds that come to my yard. Very curious and brave little birds! The bright red color of the males is really eye-catching! They are one of my favorite bird species.
