Eviesmummy & Song,
Maybe I will try again one day. I sound like I've tried, tried, and failed again, but I've honestly haven't grown one. I ordered a couple online and one arrived dead, the other died with a few days. The seller refused to refund my money or exchange for new plants. For having been in business for so long, their plants arrived damaged/dead and they weren't very polite to say the least.

I have read too many "horror stories" about watering them at the incorrect times of the year (only to kill them) and I think that makes me not want to try lol. I'm one of those "oh, you look dry" and I want to water. I should get something that slaps my hand if I try to water a Lithops at the wrong time of year. nodding

Thank you for the information, maybe I will muster the willingness to try again one day.

I can understand that, believe me. I've killed 'em with kindness myself many times.

Guess it's Haworthia bloom season? Pretty new to them, over the past year.

Here is a pot of my cacti babies (they have been in 3 different pots this winter, outdoors on one of those mini greenhouse things - plastic covered...I don't recommend them unless you're getting it on sale...the wind knocked it over 2 times on me, and each time I thought I'd secured it well enough! Now I have it tethered to the building! And I took boxing tape and taped up each shelf! So it is going no where, but meanwhile these poor guys had a rough winter!)
They are budding up after being transplanted for only a couple of weeks! If I'm able to keep these guys dry enough they'll do great! (I've had them for less than a year, cacti are brand new for me!

I have a brand new plant that I'd never heard of before...Ruschia pulvinaris its in a 4 inch pot, to give you an idea of size...it looks like a mini blue green rosemary bush. The leaves are stiff but not prickly at all! It is evergreen down to zone 5, its a slow growing plant that eventually will reach 5inches by 2 feet! And its an iceplant so it'll get magenta blooms from May thru August!
Don't know if you can see but its covered in buds! I'll post more photos when it blooms of course!

I'm loving all my new cold hardy succulents and cacti! Hurray!

I like Optunias myself, but don't have any. It's amazing to think there are some yards around here that have cold-hardy Optunias. They get iced, snowed on, and don't seem to skip a beat. That "ice plant" is interesting.

Nice, Greg.

I have Opuntias planted against the south side of our brick house. They just made it through our coldest winter in over 30 years. Hardly any snow but cold and some ice.

My little smooth prickly pears out there didn't fare so well. Crying
