The flowers appear Scilla-like and I'd suggest Scilla (Oncostema) hughii. Any bulb experts here?

If this ID is correct (which I think it is...), the long bracts* (obvious in the photo) distinguish it from the similar Scilla peruviana (there are also leaf differences); see both here:

NB. *Also the purple-flushed pedicels.

Wanted to give an extra "thanks" - I never would have thought "scilla".
The only scilla I knew about were the ones tiny like chinodoxa.

The Pacific Bulb Society link I added lists the ways in which Scilla hughii is distinguished from Scilla peruviana; just scroll to each of the two entries at the link. The most obvious way (and the one visible in the photo in question) is the prominent bracts.
