Thread OP

I got this bargain Acapulco last year but it is not the Acapulco I used to have, mainly because it bloomed early-too early and the stigma is dark, pollen a bit darker, as you can see in the photo compared to my old Acapulco, which was NOT an early bloomer. Any one know who this really is? I prefer it since it blooms early.

It looks very similar to me. This is my Acapulco. Didn't you say it is hotter where you live now? Maybe that could account for the earlier bloom. You have way more experience than me though.......just my 2 cents.

Joe, yours looks like the real Acapulco, Mine is not the same since the stigma color is wrong, and it was too early even for here, here everything is late since it is so cold in the "spring". I have to put that in quotes since if you blink here you will miss it entirely. It ain't like what I am used to for spring, which was Feb -June. Not 2 days in May.
But it is better than some places - I will not mention those of you in WI and MN.

I could be Dynamite, the only pics I see show old pollen and it is very orange, not rust like this imposter of mine is. But pollen can fade. I will be eager to see your Dynamite.

It is not Dynamite, its stigma is too dark and it is not so freckled. I looked at some photos.
So I am still searching.

Lisa--winters in Wisconsin can get really hellish, that's for sure! Yet, Tracey, Dr. Greisback and I, all live within 70 miles along a straight line (west to east) from Janesville to Delevan to Pleasant Prairie, WI. We do ok. Still wish I was about 200 miles further south--and east.

I had lots of WI and MN customers, I like to look at your weather and be glad I am not there! I need that now that I am here. I wish I was 200 miles west.
