When do I eat my single cantaloupe? Wait until the webbing is golden? No other fruit ever came but my vines are at least 15 feet long!

Every kind is different, but you can probably tell when the webbing starts to look lighter colored and dried out looking. Don't wait too long when this happens or it will crack, so keep an eye on it!
