I've noticed that when I look at Plant Database/Newest Images, it's only possible to view the first page of new photos. When I click on "Continue viewing recent images" at the bottom of the page, the view actually flips over to "Popular" photos, instead of showing the second and following pages of recent images.
To get it back to New photos, I have to click New again, and the page number.

Not a huge deal, but it seems as though it doesn't quite work the way it's intended, and it may be something that's confusing for new users. Anyone else notice this?
Thanks,
Lori

Lori, Hi! Yes, it happens for me as well…Goes to the "Popular", and then I have to click on 'Sort by' "New". Yes, you'd think that it would continue with the "New" instead of going to the "Popular". Shrug!

Lori, on the top of the page, when you press continue viewing recent images and it takes you to the most popular, is there a place on the top of the page where it says New, Popular, Buzzing? Also, Today, Past Week, Last Month. If it has that, all you have to do is click on which of those you want and it will get you there. If you don't have that I don't know what to tell you.

Cross posted with Tara, hope we've been of help.

It seems, then, that it has to do with individual settings.

4susiesjoy: Yes, thanks, but I already knew that. Your instructions are exactly what I just wrote in the original post to explain what I have to do to get around the glitch... that is, to get back to "Continue viewing recent images", I have to click again on "New" (since instead of continuing to page 2 of new photos, the system instead jumps to "Popular").

SongofJoy said:It seems, then, that it has to do with individual settings.

I don't see any particular preference setting that seems to have anything to do with this. How have you set things up for yourself so that "Continue viewing recent images" works as expected?

Lori, I do have to click the "New" also when I go to the next page. So I guess I'm not much help either. I think it's set up that way but maybe someone from the administration could help out if that's not the way it's suppose to be and we need to change some settings. @Eclayne can you help us with this?

No, I don't do that. Don't ya'll just click on page 1, page 2, page 3, and so on?

Tee, if I don't click New on that second page, It automatically takes me to the most popular Pg.1- 2- 3 etc. not the new entries. It confused me right at first but it really isn't any big deal to click "New" and "Today" when I go there so I hadn't really given it a second thought until Lori had this question. Smiling

Thanks for clarifying, Susie. I now see what you're saying. Mine doesn't seem to be doing that.

Thanks, Dave. It's better though not entirely fixed. It stays in "New" photos rather than jumping to "Popular", however, it doesn't actually go to the next page - it stays on the first page of new photos that has already been viewed. Maybe just one little additional tweak? Smiling

The intention is to take you over to the app where you get a more detailed and powerful look at the new photos. I sent it there to page 1 because it can be different from what you originally saw on the page you came from (new photos could be added since you last loaded the front page of the database, etc.)
