Oh fine Marie, just fine bragging about your fruit!

I think at the nursery they had said 3 years, so if that means from in the ground, maybe next year. It is not very tall yet.

Alan, I do not remember which one I bought and, apparently do not still have the tag either on the tree in in my seed box with other tags.

Kewl Marie! So next year I'll have fruit for sure! :)

No worries Lynda. was just curious. I bought the Angel Red Pommie. I wish I could find one at a fruit market to try...because it's suppose to have some unique and much desired attributes!

I am in NM not AZ. but my poms bloom in Spring and set fruit afterward. We do get a freeze every winter, even though they are normally not really hard. We got a hard frost killing many things back in Feb. 2011 and our poms had to be cut to the ground, so no blooms or fruit this year. I have grown them many years, they will be fine. I expect fruit next year.

Well that's encouraging, Joyce. The place I've planted my new "fruit bearing pom" has been "sensitive" to say the least. First year (Big Freeze) I lost a Flame Bougie (couldn't have been happier). Took it out and planted a Royal Poinciana that Runs With Scissors (FishKnees) gave to me. Lost that one. Planted a "Popcorn Acacia" (as Alan named it) .... lost it. Now I have the Pomegranate. I'm hopeful and will cover it with sheep skin if necessary just to keep it alive. It's been in the ground about 3 months and is about 5 ft tall. Frankly, it was blooming but I'd prefer it didn't bear (no fruit) so it puts energy into becoming established.
“Don't give up too quickly"... unknown, I heard it somewhere.

I noticed mine had another bloom this weekend, but no fruit in sight. I'm with you, grow now, produce next year :)
