Nice looking Lady Banks you got there Harold.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ‘...Holy Crap ...What a ride!'

Thanks! We thought it was a goner this Fall. Trimmed out a lot of dead and didn't think it would amount to much of anything. There are just as many blooms on the other side lying on the roof of a storage building.

I think you should use older wood canes, which is what she might be pruning. I've read somewhere to take a long cane and strip all leaves except the very tip and bury the canes in dirt leaving the tip with leaves exposed. They should root all along the cane. I'm curious tho why she is trimming now when they are in bloom? (Maybe not yet bloming in your area?)

You should never prune before the blooms! No wonder you're "bloom-deprived" - she probably cut off all the buds. Sad

Harold, do you live on Glenrosa across from a park?
The reason I ask, this looks just like the LB I had when I once lived there and I had a gate right there too.

That would be pretty weird.

Lady Banks bloom on old wood. Should not prune before the spring blooms, best to prune just after. She'll have blooms next spring....if she does not prune again.
