Oh that's lovely! I don't know why digital cameras have such a difficult time with blues and purples! I've found a few tricks to fix the problem .. but it doesn't always work. I always have camera set to bracket exposure .. it automatically takes 3 pictures with different exposure values. I've also noticed that if I set the Exposure mode to center or spot I get truer colors .. Also if I fiddle around with different White Balances that sometimes works .. especially with purples .. I set it to Cloudy and the purples will sometimes come true. If I set it to Incandescent the blues seem to come true. It also depend upon the ambient light as to which setting works best .. on average if I see the camera is having problems I'll change the settings a number of times to different settings and usually one is pretty close on.

The picture below was set on Cloudy with Center Mode ... you can see the difference also the camera was set to Exposure Bracket (Click on the picture to see the 3 different shots).

Your welcome! I'm going to try the Bonsai thing with some Shidare .. the climbing gene is either not present or off .. and they always are spindly plants .. It would be nice to have them be fuller.

It's an oldie a Sony Cybershot DSC - H5. I'm on the lookout for a new camera - I'm determined to find one that doesn't have problems with the blues and purples .. I've found that other, exact same model cameras can see the cool colors differently ... even the really high end cameras seem to have cool color problems. It's frustrating.

Two views of today's flower. I do like the color in these flowers.

Hard to tell the size of the plants themselves, but they look very small compared to the blooms. Very nice! And lovely blue blooms! How long was it from seed to bloom?

Those are pretty! Can't wait til mine start growing .. everything is at cotyledon stage at the moment and the nights are in the 40's so they are kind of comatose.

Today was the big display of color. What a deep saturated blue it is, too!

Joseph, I'm betting you can control the strength of the flash on your camera - I think that's standard for pretty much all digital cameras. I have my set for 50% of normal when I shoot flowers.
