Hi,
This photo isn't Aquilegia skinneri. The photo looks like some hybrid of A. formosa instead.
This key to American columbines describes A. skinneri has having spurs 4-5cm long and greenish sepals:

Here are photos of the real thing, which show it to a very narrow-flowered and distinctive-looking columbine:

The photo record is really messed up for this species.
There is also a selection/cultivar, 'Tequila Sunrise', that is claimed to be A. skinneri.... maybe it has some A. skinneri somewhere in its bloodlines, but it again looks like this photo (that is, very far removed from A. skinneri).
