Thought I'd share a few pics. We've been having afternoon rains for about the past two weeks... quite lovely, really. We'll start with a pretty Colorado columbine.

A small part of Tony's heather and conifer bed. The bright blooms are ice plant, which not only survived the winter, they are flourishing and spreading!

I just love Columbines. I buy them every year when I see them for sale here, just so I can feel a little bit of Colorado, the state flower as I recall. I know they will die on me, I buy them anyway...for simple pleasures.

I haven't quite figured out the picture placement thing. This is the raised bed in the shade garden.

They grow wild here, Alan. And yes, it is the state flower!

Here is my hanging fuchsia.

My dog topiary. Rescued by Barb, he's been thriving here since last spring (he overwinters inside).

Another hanging basket... I don't know what the bright green foliage plant is, but I love it!

This rose bush we inherited here, we didn't even know it existed for several years! It was growing out of the gravel. Tony built this raised bed from dry stacked stone. We now have this rose, an Angel Face rose, and a yellow rose whose name I have forgotten in this bed, along with some pansies and dianthus.

Get own root roses if you can there, or you may end up with all red roses =)

Thanks, Usha! Alan, those roses are in and growing now so we'll see what happens. This is another raised bed Tony built a couple of months ago...

Here is that raised bed that has the red rose in it (this pic taken today). Red rose is done blooming, yellow and angel face blooming now!

A beautiful gardenia I couldn't resist. I'll be trying to overwinter it inside.
