This is going to be a late starting season for me this year. Like the SW we are very arid but the HUGELY snowfull conditions this winter should make my garden burst this year. Things are finally breaking ground on the north side of my garden. First, as always, are the snowdrops. This is galanthus woronowii

I feel your anticipation of blooming joys! I've never seen a snowdrop! Must be a real kick to see one announcing more blooms on the way! Do you have peony? I love peony!

That snowy stuff would take a little getting used to.

I think I can feel your snowy pain, too..... it's freezing here in the high desert!

More pics of the Great Thaw in Calgary????

You are right it is Mcash 70 ! We e-mail each other every day and she has shared her daylily seeds with me. I now have many gal. pots of her plants growing here. She is growing some of my hollyhock and morning glories and amaryllis.

Tucson is cooler then Phoenix and has beautiful mountains and not as much traffic. Rolling on the floor laughing

Big Grin Phoenix has more resorts, golf courses, museums, movie theatres, shopping malls and really great restaurants. We have snow at times and great monsoons (courtesy of Tucson)... but, Tucson is a nice town too. Whistling

And we have Gammage and lots of live theatre.

We have birdies too. I have quite a menagerie in my backyard. I just observed a hummingbird behavior for the first time today..... need to ask Birdlady Susie about it.

Susie I have a hummingbird nest on my patio built in a hanging ornament. On March 29 th both eggs hatched but on April 7th a new egg showed up in the nest. No one knows what is going on. A third egg that appears that long after the other two have hatched seems odd.. I am no longer on DG, could you ask her about this for me? If you do I will stop bad mouthing Phoenix. Good! It's settled! Phoenix. Maybe Central east side to put you closer to a roadster trip to Ramsey Canyon. But, Phoenix might just have it all whilst you're "s'birding" in AZ.

I'm no longer on DG either... I'll see if I can send her a D-mail ..... or I'll ask Kelly to send her one re your third egg. Strange. Are the original two (?) fledglings still in the nest?

Yes they are still in the nest. My friend Margaret posted the picture I sent her of this on the Bird Watching site at DG. That was before I knew non payers can get on that forum. It is posted on the " New egg in with hummingbirds question site" . Thanks for any help. I think I will post the photo here in a few minutes. I am on dial up so it takes a long time.
