The one I have here reblooms on occasion, but it is sporadic. Don't know if Dave has had rebloom.

Hi Henhouse Welcome!

I don't think ours have ever rebloomed for us.

I guess I'll have to put a chunk into the re-bloomer bed, so it gets a little extra TLC ! This is getting better and better !....Arlyn

Only one out of 10 or so rebloomed for me, Arlyn, but the rebloomer location was different from the others. Be interested to see what some extra TLC will do for them.

Generally they need both more water, and an extra feeding (or two!) for any kind of reliable re-bloom. I'm zoned a lot colder than you, also, so it might not even try, here, but it's worth a shot. Shrug! ...Arlyn

Dave and Debra, I'm wondering if you think my yellow NOID might be a match for yours?
I found Bellerive, that looks close, but could only find 2 pictures online. Also Desert Song, although I think it looks more modern than these.

Looks pretty close, Sherry. The stalks on mine get up to 4 foot, have a very strong fragrance, and large blooms.

Edited to clarify: But usually get to around 3 foot tall. {{blushing}}

Debra, I think mine will be taller next year, although most of mine are never quite as tall as their published heights.

A couple other names to toss out from this site that I found:
http://www.tastygardener.com/b...
Gibralter, & Fern Fraser
There doesn't seem to be much info on either of these. Gibralter looks to be the closer of the two.

There were some other names I discarded. Desert Song among them.

I'm seeing this Iris everywhere now.. Here's a blogger in Texas:
http://cottagedome.blogspot.co...

Also look at 'The Knockout', and 'Oregon Sunshine' on Bluebirdhaven Iris.. Although I don't think either of these are right.

I also ran across 'New Dawn' (Burgess 1936), not sure if the beard is dark enough.

It's hard to say from that picture.

I posted my photos above and they are pretty good representations of what we have. Debra and I are both pretty well convinced that what we have is Alice Harding.

Dave, I'm not sold on it being Alice Harding. From what pics I can find, Alice is more "yellow", and , as Debra remarked earlier in the thread, the beards are more "golden", or orange. The noid seems to me to have lighter colored beards, that lighten even more towards the outer end. Alice is one I'm adding this year, and I already grow a start of Deb's noid, so with any luck, I'll know for sure next year. But , I think I will keep looking for some more info on Gibralter ( PBF ? rebloom ?, etc). Another strike against it being Alice (in my opinion anyway) is that Alice is a widely grown iris, and any tendency for possible rebloom should , or would have been mentioned, if it was there, and I have seen no references to it. As I said, there were a boatload of light yellows from this timeframe, and an I.D. isn't going to come very easy! But that's what makes it so much fum ! Sticking tongue out ...Arlyn

Arlyn when your's blooms (next year I presume) I hope you bump this thread again with your thoughts. A solid ID isn't something that I need right now. I did sell about 15 of these clumps at our master gardener plant sale but didn't give a name. Just sold them in bloom and let people grab 'em! We sold them all for $5 per clump and they were all gone within the first hour of the sale.

It looks to be a wonderful iris, that's obvious from the pics Thumbs up ! And you can be sure if we do nail down an I.D., we'll be sure to post it. I am amazed that what seems to me to be the same iris cultivar , has shown up ,at the same time, on two different forums ! There is another person on the HIPS forum who seems to have the same plant (bought from a commercial seller as an "unknown yellow" Confused ), so that adds some "mystery" to the plot ,as well !.....Arlyn

Sherry, I agree with Dave, it is a little difficult to tell from the photo, but it sure is a nice stand. Smiling I think Arlyn has the best chance of identifying it. Fun stuff.

Arlyn, when you find more data on Gibraltar, I'd be interested in reading it.

This bloom is ragged from the winds yesterday, but still pretty.
