I am curious what is going on on the left side of this screen. I have a white envelope with an excalmation point that is circled in red. Under it is a white envelop with a blue square under it that says, view new messages. I clicked on it thinking the message feature here had been changed but it took me to a site that told me to Download something. ( Inbox Ace ) I did not but do not like this advertisement that made me think I had to do that to get the message I usually get by clicking on the envelope at the top.

Sounds like an invasion of some sort of phishing site. @dave ...... Maybe need to change your passwords

Just looks like a google ad to me. I have been seeing this one popup on occasion for a long time.

It's an ad designed to catch us off guard - it is purposely designed to look like the mail envelope frequently used on many sites.
Low class advertising (in my opinion) - please do not click on it - maybe they will go away and make room for some decent advertisers who are up front and honest.

Yes, when you hover your mouse over it, you can see the URL and that it is a Google ad services but it's very misleading and does not belong on a gardening site.

Also, if you could, right click on it and select "Copy link location" and paste that into a tree mail to me. Then I can block this thing.

Thanks Sue, I got exactly what I needed, and I have blocked the ad. It might take up to a couple hours before the block takes effect and the ad removed.

Guess this is a good reminder "See something, Say something."

I saw it again just yesterday!

I noticed it this morning and got a second URL and blocked it, too. Hopefully that'll do it for good.
