Anyone looking for Mallard Ducks for their pond? There free! I would be surprised if they stayed there once they grow up. Isn't it there nature to fly north and south during the various seasons?

Oh gosh no! They are really dirty, cute but dirty. The poo load alone would destroy the pond Sad But thanks for thinking of us Big Grin

It's impossible to get their poo off of concrete... takes lots of elbow grease. I used to live next door to some and they'd come to my house for lunch.... just a mess. Cute but a mess. And, the poo in the water and it gets nasty. If they like your yard they will return year after year during migration.

When the park fills with water across the street, I see them in the neighborhood. Sometimes even in my back yard. But more so in the winter than in the monsoon season.

Migratory waterfowl are still in Canadian and Alaskan nesting grounds this time of the year. The ducks you are seeing now are those that seldom leave this area and are considered local birds. That's why you see some now but many more in the winter.
