I use AdBlocker and don't see any ads. But this is the only site where I might want to peek at the ads and spend money. Maybe not. Hilarious!

Some of the browsers let you block it Greene. But I don't mind the ads that pop up on ATP.
No we don't get the same ads. I can get girly dating targeted at >60 males. I am not sure why but I suspect that comes from the details in my fb account, which I should alter.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I like ads. Ads help to pay for websites.
@ShadyGreenThumb, while I appreciate your words, I did not ask how to block ads, so your reply is not relevant to the original question.

@Gleni, thank you. I had noticed that age had something to do with the ads I had been seeing on various sites (hence woman 60+= support stocking ads), and I altered my profile so I could see 'younger' ads. Just to be funny, I did searches for bull castration equipment, but as yet those clues have not prompted any interesting ads for me. Rolling on the floor laughing

My original question has been answered, thank you.

This was a big thread over the weekend and I didn't really read it until now.

All ads on ATP are served via Google.

Yes, Google tracks your usage around the web and they tailor the ads you see (here and elsewhere) to things that they hope are relevant to you.

Last year I was shopping for a new cell phone for Trish and after doing some searches, I started seeing Verizon ads on ATP.

Nobody sees the same ads, although some ads are not targeted to the individual but rather are targeted to the audience. Ads like gardening companies will appear on ATP because ATP is a gardening site. In those cases, we all see them. Sometimes junk ads like that mail ad people were talking about earlier, appear on every site across Google's ad network.

Thanks @dave. I hope you enjoyed the weekend with the family. The kind members of ATP helped me out with the answers. Thumbs up Lovey dubby

I was hoping the entire membership would not end up with ads for support hose just on my account. But I get it now; we do not all see the same thing at the same time except for the junk ads.

This was fun.

Of course, I still cannot see an ad from No Bull Enterprises (and doesn't everyone need to buy their Callicrate Bander Kit?) and still no ad for the cute little gardening boots with chickens. I'm stuck with the Swanson ad. I am thinking that since I suspended my activity with 3 items in the Swanson's shopping cart, they will not quit until I complete the order process.

Advertisers are smart and I admire them.

Yep, I've had the Swanson's ad to the left for-ev-er. I do like shopping with them and it jogs my memory when I come here.
I garden for the pollinators.

Those, plus the ads that are targeted toward us as a group. If you see an ad for Johnny's Selected Seeds, for example, there's a good chance that this is one such ad that is targeted toward a demographic rather than an individual.
