A wonderful article, Cindy, even for those of us with a few year's experience! I'm slowly learning, even about adding some soluble fertilizer to the soak, and spreading roots properly when planting. I think part of the pressure to fuss comes from wanting to see the flowers bloom, but by now I'm also learning to relax and wait and let the fans and scapes take their time. You gave such a reassuring approach for adjusting ourselves to daylilies, becoming aware of their basic needs, and allowing ourselves to feel less stress about being new to gardening - it will all work out! With the wise guidance in your article, I feel another step closer to becoming a real daylily gardener!
