You need to get you another bird. Get you a Quaker Parakeet, they are very, very smart, and can sing and dance, and they love chatting with you. I lost my Quaker Parakeet Keebler, she passed away...oh gosh, about three years ago now. She was 18 years old. I miss her so much!

I have never heard of a Quaker. Alan, these sweet pets sure get under our skin and into our hearts!

They are also known as monk parakeets. Google them, they are the cutest things, and they now come in more colors than just green. I see they now have a beautiful blue hybrid. I've been so tempted. But, I start worrying about my age, and how long they live, and who would take care of them, what kind of home would the end up in, if something happen to me. I would feel horrible in after life if I saw any of my furry or feathered friends being abused.

Allie just told me today that she wondered if her bird would accept another one after bonding so deeply with James, the hubby. her bird won't let Allie touch James if he is on James shoulder. My Buddie was the same with me. When James isn't home, she is fine with her bird.

I love the birdies but I am spending some crazy travel time hopefully next year. Pets have to wait.

Then no birdie for you. Junior needs a lot of attention and time out of the cage, but is very friendly with anyone once he gets used to them, is nippy until he gets to know you though. Not hard nippy, baby scary nippy lol, only a few months old. Looking for a forever home where he'll be the only bird, get tons of out of cage time, lovin', attention, a playgym, and for sure won't be bred. It's hard to trust someone you don't know when they say they can provide these things So I think he probably won't go home to a stranger.

I don't know if I said this before when we were talking about her bird but tame lovies who accept a friend bird are not likely to be tame for long, they'll have one strong bond and be loyal to that, if they're living with a bird, welll, you get the idea. Males can be the exception, they are far more open to extra relationships than females.

Junior sound like the kind of bird I would have liked. And do like and will like to own. But not now. So tempting but I am being wise. I hope he joes to a wonderful, love filled home. Buddie was out of her cage all the time as you can see in the photos above. She would nestle in my hair, kiss my ears and protect me anytime someone walked in the room. It was so funny.

Yep, that's why I asked.....I thought you would be a good home, just not if you know you'll be too busy and away. He'll find a home eventually

Well, so much for not getting another bird. I posted this somewhere, but I don't remember where. My groomer passed away, and her husband has to move out of the house, and does not want the birds. He dropped by the other night, cage in hand, and asked me if I would take them. I'm such a sucker, there little beauties and I couldn't say know.
