Milk spray works for awhile but it will usually be back and need to be treated more than once. At least that's the case here.

No, I don't think it was determined for certain to be powdery mildew. Thumbs up

I've bought a new product for this year.
I heard it touted by a couple of locals as a new ORGANIC fungicide.

I use Bacillus thuringiensis as an organic grub worm (Japanese beetle and June bug) control but I've not used the one you mention as a fungicide. Honestly, the issue usually resolves itself here and I don't have any formal gardens so I don't mind that.

My lilac was blocking some air flow in the front yard.

It had been damaged badly in what the locals refer to as "Snowmageddon" (The February 5–6, 2010 North American blizzard) and I removed a LOT of dead and dying wood last fall.

It's coming back (barely) and I don't even know if it will survive, but I'm hoping.

Anyway, that had me mildewy so maybe it'll be better this year. Just in case, I got the Serenade.

I don't blame you. When something is already stressed, it needs all the help it can get. I hope it survives and thrives.

I will look at your recommendations, I don't think it's powdery mildew. This turns the plant black and it dies back, then in the black mess is some white. Very destructive not just ugly like powdery mildew.
