Last fall I had the extreme pleasure of meeting
@gingin and trading some plants with her. Thanks!!!
Currently, I'm really enjoying the violets! I didn't manage to get a pic when they were blooming, and was surprised they did! This is a newly planted spot last year to eliminate trying to mow the huge hump around the base of this tree, violets added in November. Some might consider these plants weeds, (with spiderwort Tradescantia and Oxalis crassipes) but they were 'free' in the grass, I think they're quite pretty, and will fill in thickly enough (with the help of ever-increasing shade) to keep the grass from growing on this hill - and be mowed sometimes after the spiderwort goes scraggly in the heat.
Plumeria cutting looks GREAT! Can't wait to repot this so it can get more sun. Hanging out with the Philodendron was only for squeezing plants into a small window space for winter. For now, I've finagled the pot so the Philo is mostly under the roof, with the Plumeria hanging out into the sun for much longer.
Do you have a success story to share? Pics?
