This is definitely blooming! I've yet to determine if it's correctly cistus aguilarii or cistus ladanifer Blanche, but I will have to find out for sure because I NEED this plant. Saw it today in Brookings, Oregon. I love all Cistus, but this one is really special. I'm surprised to learn that cistus grow really well up here.

What's blooming up here? Rhodys...everywhere...this one is, I think, the largest I've seen....

And the everpresent broom..sorry that it's invasive, but not sorry that it's here. I've always loved broom...

I like broom too. It's pretty and graceful and easy to pull or dig out of anyplace you don't want it.

I'm really liking the burkwodii and I don't knopw how similar it is, but there's one up here that has mixed in with the straight yellow, has the red / orange coloring to it. Word is that everyone spends so much time eradicating the broom, that if I see one of the ones I like, feel free to dig it up...lol..they spend a lot of time and energy and money up here trying to clear it out, I suppose my neighbors would not be happy to see me plant it, even though it's all around us anyway.

Beautiful Tarev!

We have lots of broom volunteers in the front yard. I wish the deer would eat them... but they are easy to pull, as you said Zuzu. They'd be wonderful it they weren't so prolific. I'm always surprised when I see the nursery selling them.

Night before last I was drooling over pics of the digiplexis, knowing I would never run into any around here....stopped at the Grocery Outlet in Oregon yesterday and...WOW! They had some sitting at the door...they didn't have the items I'd stopped there for, but sure glad that I'd stopped....

A couple of months ago I picked up an echium wildpretii at the nursery in McKinleyville...they only had one and I didn't know if I would encounter another one, so had to get it. As it turned out, the seeds that I'd brought up here with me did well and now I have LOTS of them. This one, having been kept in a pot was not able to reach full height, but is flowering anyway. I'm so happy that the echiums and cistus grow well up here, two of my favorite things....

Carol, I was going to ask if anyone wanted seeds...I have some left of this batch that I've just been sowing and I will have more from this one that's currently flowering.....t-mail your mailing address to me ( haven't kept it from before) and I'll send these to you. I'd somewhow expected them to be a problem in germinating, don't know why since the echiums throw off volunteers so readily....I did mine in the paper towel / zip baggie method and they worked well.

Happy to note that on this morning's check of hoovb's blog 'A Piece of Eden, she says that her digiplexis was not even fazed by 3 days of near 100 degree heat, 60 MPH winds and a humidity level of 5%...planted in full sun...
