Not having any blooms here...the irony of having intense heat, but not enough sun for my dahlia. oh well...will just see how far it goes. Unless...it is waiting for early Fall..just to make it a bit cooler...but still warm enough...fingers crossed!

Maybe they will do better with less heat and more sun, Tarev.

Jennifer - very strange gardening year here as well. My dahlias put on a huge leap of growth in the last week and two are in bloom. I only planted them about 5 or 6 weeks ago!

I think it likes it around the 80 to 85F temp..but we go beyond that a lot..like this weekend is heat wave weekend at 100F once more and mid to upper 90's the following week. Rolling my eyes.

I chicken out and come inside at 85 and, if it's humid, I'm in the AC before that!

Yes lovely Mary.. It's just like the one I grew in the past...my mystery of how the first picture I posted of mine wasn't in keeping with what I knew... It was the free gift bulb they had included with the order....BumbleRumble is up now...next to it...and blooming...and looking just like in years past

Mislabeled dahlia. Supposed to be Timmo, a burgandy. Oh well, I like this pink

My Dahlias were not successful here during summer..just stems with leaves. I am waiting for it to do a natural die down since it is getting cold. I have chopped off half of it actually. Ironically, the remaining ones are holding even after our rains..so who knows how far along it will go. But if it eventually goes, it's okay. Que sera, sera.

Yesterday I sadly disposed of the last dahlia blooms I had in a vase. It feels like a very long wait until they'll be blooming again.

I am amazed that you still had blooms in NY, at the end of November!! We have had snow on the ground for 3 weeks or so. Dahlia tubers are dug, divided and stored for the long long winter.
