Ubo really wore them so he had traction and his nails didn't scratch the boat. They did help on the hot pavement though too and he never minded putting them on. He also wore a red life vest when we were 'running'. The funniest thing I ever saw though was once when we brought him into the marina to go potty (as we did regularly) and lifted him onto the pier in full dress, only to be met by a busload of Chinese tourists replete with chatter and flashing cameras! I wish I could have understood the language at that moment!

I can sure see the value of the booties on the boat. I'd love to put Lexie on the water. I may get her a kiddie pool.
When we had our two black Standards, Lex and Bert, we took them to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. There were many many Asian (mostly) tourists standing around looking across the ditch. They'd notice the "boys" and ALL of them wanted their pictures taken with them. Seemed they forgot about the canyon. They were so handsome seen as a duo. Bert later got all of the attention when Lex died.

Hey WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY TAIL?????? I think it's awesome!!!!!!!!
Susie took me to the Biltmore today. Some sort of high rise. We parked in underground parking and took the elevator up to the 8th floor with two men who I thought had MY lunch (she told me it was THEIR lunch... grrrrrr). I met the ladies at the office and got to look out the window over the Biltmore Shopping Mall. I was TRANSFIXED. Just amazing view. The car ride was EXHAUSTING. I slept for about 3 hrs when we got home!
I haven't been on this forum for awhile and missed your wonderful news about Lexie! Congratulations! What a blessing to her last owner that Lexie has come to live with you!

Thanks, Crista.
It's a good match. She is so playful! Like a puppy and she's 4 years old already. This morning we went for our walk and came to Scampy's house. As usual, Scampy was out (of leash, and very well behaved mutt/terrier type) with Jan as she was watering front plants. Lexie knows them already and likes to coax/nip at Scampy to play. Scampy doesn't like this. He is VERY playful himself but I think he likes to initiate the play. Short visits will need to prevail as Lexie gets a little carried away with the nipping.
She doesn't like coming across other dogs walking with owners. Barks and pulls. We need to get a class soon to socialize. A short stay in foster with two other standards was successful but the leash thing isn't good.
Susie, I have all my dogs on "Gentle Leader Easy Walk" harnesses, not the muzzle type, but the 'horse harness' type. They have been a God send... you can buy them on ebay for less than retail, and I swear by them. They work just like a horse harness, directing shoulders rather than strangling. Here's a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/PREMIER-Ge...
People ask me how I can walk 5 dogs at a time, and I'm pretty sure these harnesses help make it possible.

Hi Brenda,
Yes, I've been using that also. Carla, foster mother, gave it to me. I wish I'd used this type harness with Bert and Lex. Definitely solves so many issues!

Putting the harness on: she probably enjoys the interest in her. Even for things that are not comfortable (like ear cleaning and tooth brushing) Inky has gotten so that he knows I am doing it 'FOR' him and he complies with my direction (like..'flip over so I can do the other side") and appreciates it when we are done. She's lucky to have you and I am certain she know it too!

Bonjour, INX! You are so handsome, cher. Yes, Jamie, I agree. She loves the up close and personal attention. Also I think she appreciates that "WE" will be doing something together. I'm going to get her groomed next week. She won't need it too badly but I want the groomer to see how I like her tail while it's still in good "shape". Also, I want her ears lots shorter. Food dish issues, you know! Have fun on your walk with Jamie, Inky!
