Everyone is tempted by the sexy blooms and luscious tomatoes we see in pictures, but if plants aren't happy, they won't live up to their outward appearance. Like humans, their beauty begins more than skin deep.

Some of us spend quite a bit of time in the "off" season, thinking about our current gardens and future gardens. For those that are addicted, we often interrupt our currently scheduled programming to spend time musing over future plans and purchases. Sometime the best plans and best products yield the best results. And sometimes the best plans break the bank - but the lessons learned and creativity sparked can also yield surprising results.

It is always great when WYPIWYG (What You Plan Is What You Get) and it is with a smile of relief and a warm feeling inside that we become better gardeners by giving our plans all that is needed to succeed. It often leads to bountiful harvests and great rewards.
