Where's Judy? Can't we just give her a turn out of the goodness of our hearts? Whistling

OK, here goes. Get your google going, now. It's a two-fold question.

1) What is attar of roses?

3) How many petals does it take to make one ounce?

I think I'm right...
Attar is the essence oil of rose used in perfume production.
It can take 1500 to 10000 petals to make an ounce of oil.
If I'm right.... I will craft a new question late tonight or early tomorrow....
Alma?

Right about the attar, but my source - http://www.gardenmob.com/perfu... - says it takes about 30,000 petals to make an ounce.

Also on that link is a list of "most fragrant roses". I'm not sure what to make of that list since it includes Mr. Lincoln but not Angel Face, which to me is fabulously fragrant.

Ivory Fashion x Ballerina - at least according to this site. http://www.rose-roses.com/rose...

I found it interesting that it is called a shrub rose by some and a climber by others. If it is a climber and would behave itself, I'd love to have it. The pictures of this rose in full bloom are outrageous!

Alma,
My mom has it across a white picket fence at the sidewalk in front of her house.... fence is about 40 feet across with a walk to the front door in the middle. Really gorgeous when blooming! Which in Menlo Park, CA is often!

You win! Next rose trivia question?

So, sounds like it's a rampant, rambling climber sort of a rose bush over 40 feet long?

Trivia question: What is considered to be the world's largest rose bush and where is it located? (If you don't get this one, you have to go back to kindergarten.)
