...This wonderful man opens his home gardens 3 times a year for plant sales and view of his gardens with plants from around the world. This was a special visit because this is the last time Jerry's Jungle would be open. Jerry is retiring.
So, we walked around slowly gathering in all the wonderful plants and flowers. It was much different in the spring compared to last fall. We loved it! I looked at plants that would help remind me of our past visits. I picked up a Dwarf Bamboo "Chopsticks" that I will pot up to control spreading. It will grow to 2 feet tall. Jerry has an amazing Bamboo Jungle that is very cool to walk through. That plant alone will remind me of his plants. I got my 2nd Green Leopard Plant I had been searching for. And a Bird Nest Fern "just because".
I was happy to find some plants because at first I would eye plants that had "sold" signs on it, or "not for sale". I thought I would never find that special plant! I inquired about a gorgeous adenium in a Dutch blue and white pot. It was located in one of 3 greenhouses in the gardens. It was white, with really ruffly edges trimmed in hot pink. The Helper wasn't sure what I was talking about at first but after telling her the description, she said "That one is not for sale unless you want to part with $300?" $300?!! Oh my goodness! But it was so darn pretty! And you know that feeling about plants where you think you have to have it because you may never see it again? If I had $300 in my pocket, I KNOW I would have bought it! Phew! Now that I am back home and sane, I sure am glad I didn't spend $300 on one plant! But it was gorgeous. I was so excited to run back to ask about it I totally forgot to take a picture!
