I fertilized today. Getting a second set of buds on my inherited pink hybrid t.

Alan, when you deadhead... how far down to you go? I think my dear mother (RIP) told me the first cluster of five leaves, cut at an angle about 1/2 inch above the joining area... leaves to stem. to stimulate another shoot for a bloom I think she said to look for that slit thing and cut at an angle 1/2 inch above the slit/eye thingy.

Thanks, Alan. Yea, she was a great rose grower. 'course the weather and soil helped a lot to live on the San Francisco Peninsula!

doopid-head here. Confused does dead-head just mean cut off the spent flowers?

alan, i picked up my veteran's honor rose yesterday. it is in a 5-gal container with roots coming out of the drain holes. would a 10-gal pot be too big? i also have a 7-gal pot.
