My hugelswale area. I have almost completely neglected this area this year. I'm growing sunflowers and the usual perennial herbs, plus some peas and beans, but nothing really serious. It got pretty overgrown with weeds and I'm going to clean it up once the weeds are done doing my good work for me. Smiling

Beautiful rose bed. I'm feeling envious! So much land to fill up with flowers and veggies! Everything looks so lush.

Nice perspective! It's also good to know that I'm not the only one with a pile of dirt in my yard. ;)

Love springtime too. Like that you let the weeds bring the nitrogen up...is there a best time to cut/cover them up?

When the weeds start flowering is what I get serious about doing something about them. There are very few that I want to go to seed, and those are clover, vetch and chickweed. Everything else gets pulled out well before the seed heads form.
