Thanks for the Syncopation links, Sue. Marilyn, Syncopation sure looks a lot like Megabucks! My iris has a pronounced orange beard, and it's hard to tell from individual photographs. For now, (phew!) , I'm calling it Megabucks, unless someone convinces me otherwise!
Although the date 1986 for Syncopation more closely resembles the time I got it - thinking it was '85 to '88. We'd moved to the land in '86 and I planted them within a year or two. To muddy the waters even further, the lovely lady I got them from, and who has passed away, as I recall, had called it by a woman's 2-word name. Which is why I originally thought it was Gladys Austin. But it isn't because, as Dave has pointed out, the beard is quite different.
I've had a trade offer and maybe we'll have another Sherlock to help i.d. it!
