I can't find a reliable source of info on this. I have Origanum dictamnus and its common name is "Dittany of Crete". Is this perhaps a typo dictamnus vs. dictamnus and common name not varietal? I tip my hat to you.

Yes, right on both counts. It's a typo and incorrect usage... It should be Origanum dictamnus, and Dittany of Crete is a common name, not a cultivar name.

@zuzu
I have tried to submit a correction, but the correct entry also exists, so I can't submit it. Could you please move the photo to the correct entry and delete this incorrect one?
Thanks,
Lori

Thanks for catching the typo. I took a photo of the botanical name, as written on the tag, in Zilker Botanical Garden's herb garden.

By the way, Lori, I never received your "summons." For future reference, the use of @ followed by the member name doesn't work if it's added in an edit. It has to be included in an original post.

Hi, Leslie. There's really no reason to delete the thead, is there? It might be of use to someone someday. Smiling
