Bulbils are formed in leaf axils of some lilies, Bellingham Hybrid is one of them.

I guess it's time to dig it up, see if it has a bulb, and relocate it to some sun....

Don't dig it up until the foliage has died back in the autumn, the bulb needs the food provided by the leaves to develop so digging it up will delay it even more.

I'll keep the foliage. It's short enough not to break.

Well knock me over with a feather!
It IS a lily!
Dug it (actually there were 2), potted it, added the "bulbils" to the pot since they were falling off of their own volition.

Gosh I HOPE it's an Easter Lily!
Lost the ones I had.
Or maybe the squirrel ate all but the one it relocated for me.....

"Bulbils" are the little bulblets that grow in the leaf axils along the stem, as shown in Plantladylin's posting, 5 entries up from here. (Bulbils produce clones of the original plant.)

It you actually had these, then that would be important towards an ID. It points very strongly to tiger lily, Lilium lancifolium, or a hybrid thereof.
If you just meant "little offset bulbs forming underground", then it could be any lily. (However, since you refer to them "falling off", I assume your lily really does have bulbils.)

Easter lily, Lilium longiflorum, does not have bulbils, so if your plant has them, it would rule out this species.

But a member read my fervent post hoping it was Easter lily and offered a trade, so I shall have some nice Easter lilies in any case.

I'd also love a tiger lily, so all is well on that front.

Well, it was past time to mark this solved, although it won't REALLY be solved until I see the flower next summer! Hilarious!

I'll try to remember to come back and post a pic.

Just remember, if it is the traditional white Easter lily that is sold at Easter, it will be virused. At the North American Lily Society conference just yesterday, David Zlesak presented a study that again confirmed that 99.4% of all Easter lilies carry the Lily Symtomless virus, and the .6% probably just didn't show up in the testing. If you grow other lilies, I wouldn't want to introduce the virus in your garden.

OMG I never heard of that!
I was irritated I had missed the after Easter sale.....
I guess that's out for next year as well.

No, we determined (not I) that it is a variety of tiger lily because that;s the kind that makes dark bulbils on the stem like mine had.

Bummer I can't get Easter lilies.
