Nice photo of the petiole scales. Do the petiole and veins in the leaf underside remain red as the leaf ages?

It fades some as the plant ages. In this pic...petiole and leaf are a couple months old. I kept forgetting to get the photo when it first emerged. Then it took me several tries to get the darn thing in focus. It's developing 3 new leaves, so I hope to get a better picture.
