A few photo's from my backyard today to start the May thread ...

Red-winged Blackbirds, two males and a female:

Red-bellied Woodpeckers, first two photo's are of a female, the last one a male

Mourning Doves and a Northern Cardinal, male (this photo was taken through the window):

And, I glanced out the window around 5 O'clock this evening and saw a Red-shouldered Hawk perched in the Cypress tree. Apparently it wasn't very hungry because there were a couple of other birds in the same tree. I grabbed my camera and got a couple of pic's through the window before a Mockingbird began dive bombing the hawk and chased it off.

Dave, awesome shot of the Tree Swallow! I have never seen one sitting still. They are always flying lickety split!

As usual Lin, wonderful photos.

It's been rainy and dreary here all day but I've still managed to take photo's through the windows and I went outside between rain showers for a few shots. The birds have been active even with all the rain.

When I was outside earlier today I noticed a Red-shouldered Hawk being dive bombed by a mockingbird again. The poor hawk was perched at the top of a tree trying to dry it's wings. These photo's were taken from a distance so they are a bit grainy.
