I've had this houseplant for at least five years now, it's under a foot tall, about 10" with leatherish leaves with scalloped margins that are raised on edge. I can tell you this plant is usually in the guest bedroom and often forgotten. It can take the abuse, without water for weeks or months at a time.

Christine, that is a healthy and beautiful plant ... great growing. I think it might be Coral Ardisia (Ardisia crenata)

Thank you Lin!

Oh wow, go figure! That sure does look right. Now I'm tempted to divide it and see if it will grow outside. Whistling

I was just reading that, Lin. I guess I'll leave well enough alone. Maybe I'll put it in a bigger pot and give it some extra tlc, maybe it will flower for me in the house.

Here's some info about it as a house plant. http://www.houseplantsexpert.c...

And thank you for the ID, Lin, I feel confident that you got it right!! I'll mark is solved. Thumbs up

Christine: You can keep it in a pot/container and sit it outside during the summer months ... they can attain heights to @ 6' but will probably stay about 3' to 4' if kept in a container. The fruit/berries and leaves are thought to be toxic so it's not a good plant to have around children or pets. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ag281
