Okay now there are 2 of us. When I save the pics, the size is reduced. They become thumbnails when I drag.
< img class="thumb" src="http://garden.org/pics/2011-07-07/boojum/62f42d-250.jpg" border="0" alt="2011-07-07/boojum/62f42d" style="margin: 5px;" />
I hope this gives you a clue Dave.

They don't enlarge if you create the entry using Safari. Firefox and Chrome both do not have this problem. IE maybe does.

I don't have Safari, at all, so I can't find out what is causing Safari to break on this point.

Interesting. Is this Chrome on a Mac? I wonder if that's part of the problem.

I have Chrome on my desktop here and I can use it to test this, and I will next time I have a moment (I'm heading to bed now!)

Okay, I'm using Chrome to test my blog and I'm seeing the same thing. Hurray! Now that I have seen this with my own eyes, I can track down what's causing this and maybe hopefully fix it. Smiling Not tonight, though.

Thanks for your patience as I work through this bug.

Hey, next time, instead of dragging and dropping the image in, try selecting the image with your mouse (it makes the image blue-ish) and then hit Ctrl-C and then go to the body of your post and hit Ctrl-V

(these are shortcuts for copy/paste).

I just tried that with Chrome and it works and preserved the large clickable image.

When I selected the image on the right it didn't turn blue! :grumbling:
I also tried uploading a new image but got the same results. Then I got one to turn blue and used Ctrl-c and Ctrl-v but it still wouldn't open bigger.

After I've uploaded a new image, if I left click on it, it sometimes blows up in the right box. If I copy and paste, it is really big on the left (not a thumbnail).

I think eventually I will get drag and drop working properly on Chrome, but in the meantime I have added an extra functionality to let you work around this problem:

Starting now when you are editing an article or blog entry, when you see the images on the right side, directly above each image is a [pic] tag that is populated with the name of the image below the tag.

You can copy and paste just the tag into your post body and when you save your changes and preview it, you'll see that the tag is replaced by a clickable version of the photo.

Rats. It only pops in the code! I even refreshed, uploaded a new pic, copied and pasted, to no avail. It looked promising because when I moved the cursor to the left, a long vertical line appeared the length of a photo. Could it be a setting on my computer? Something is adjusting the code.

Right, it will just copy the code over and you will not see the image until your save your changes and go preview the entry.
