I was thinking as most of us have dividing lilies, there may be a time to get rid of or give away some. Most of us give away to friends and non gardeners which is great. Especially when you get someone interested into lilies. I figured that it would be cool if we could get a trade going. I'm not sure of the mailing process with bulbs or if it is even feasible. It would mostly be done on an honor system but I think it could be awesome.

Ex. Joe has 3 pink noid asiatic, 1 Robina, 3 stargazers for trade. Lorn (just an example lol) has 2 superbum, 1speciousum album for trade. Joe agrees to send Lorn 1 Robina for Lorn's speciosum album. The partners would have all the power to accept the trade based on what each wants.

I think this would be good to post what everyone has available towards late summer. That way everyone could eye up what they like for fall trade. I dont want anyone to feel pressured into trading with someone they don't want so like I said earlier, all trading parties would have all authority to trade or not. All proposed trades could possibly be done through tree mail for privacy and owners inventory posts could be edited based on agreed trades to provide an accurate inventory.

Just a few thoughts. Let me know who is interested in trading and any thoughts or constructive criticism is welcomed.

Joe, I think many of us already do this on an unofficial basis.

I'm usually game but not sure that I have anything special that anyone would want.

Me!

Your weather for the week end looks to be pretty nice down there for selling, too! Good seeds--that's what I like to hear! Sounds like you're havin' fun, Anthony.

I am interested in trades, and Moby, you probably have something I want since you bought so many of my babies! And I have more than lily bulbs to trade, dafs and tulips and alliums and peonies and iris, lots of iris, Old Black Magic, black and purple, and purple iris and light yellow iris, I need to keep my plant numbers down so I can fit more lilies in!!!!!!
Here is Old Black Magic, it will be ready the end of July!

We had a very harsh winter with no snow cover and know that I've lost a few things. I'll be taking inventory over the summer and if I have it ~ it's yours!
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

We had a very bad cold snap in early Dec. that solved some of my excess plant issues. No snow and bitter cold, dry wind for a week. The lilies and Iris are fine, the lilies actually grew very well for me here in this awful place, I mulch and that is something they really like. And this spring I kept them copper sprayed for late frost so didn't lose so many bloom buds. And my small onions survived, I was told by a "grower" that they wouldn't overwinter here so I guess I will just have to find out everything for myself all over again.

Here is what I think I will have to trade, most are bloom size except where noted. One I have to scale, MUSSASI, because it is to die for and I must have more, it had a huge stem this year so I should have plenty of scales to share.
I am interested in old cultivars and species, so don't think I don't want it because it has been around 4-ever, those are exactly what I do want! And scales are OK.
I also have other bulbs, Iris and a lovely pink peony to trade.

Having lost what little shade I had, Pink Pearl is not doing well and going straight back to her mama.

Perhaps we should also post a list of 'wants'?

Sorry I went AWOL for a time, my back was acting up so I am avoiding sitting, since I had to finish removing iris and bulbs from my little yard to make more room for lilies! Bending is bad for the back too.
Yes, anyone who wants should post, I want so much there is not enough space for my wants. Rosario is high up there as well as any early blooming orientals like Pink Pearl! Here it is so crappy that it is difficult to get Asiatic seed much less anything else, even the trumpet seed set is poor, too hot for too long and me and my lilies can't stand it.
But lately the weather is better, I was just outside enjoying the morning coolness and finally we get a breeze! A breeze without thunder and lightning!

I have a surfeit of white lilies and a few that are multiples. I will pull an inventory of what I know I have that is healthy and large enough to trade (tomorrow). I don't have tons but since I order in 3's I don't mind sending on at least one bulb of each color, or in the case of ones that have spread (like Razzle Dazzle) I can send multiples

I will be digging lilies soon and then selling my surplus, no obs here so that and other bulbs and plants have to be sold. If anyone wants to do a trade let me know soon, some of these I may have to trade for digging labor, my back is very bad now and I have difficulty walking so must try to maintain what mobility I have for as long as I can.
My list is posted somewhere in this thread.

I STILL HAVE LOTS TO TRADE!
I want to thank everyone for trading in the past and this year, the weather this month has been very good and I am worn out from digging, and planting and mulching etc. I have almost everything dug that I needed to except a few late things I am waiting for seed on like the pink Trumpets, I have some very nice dark pink trumpets (HINT,HINT) and I do not want them to get so big I can't dig them. I am NOT getting any younger and my spade fork smacked me upside the head the other day. Lilies can not only be addictive, they can be DANGEROUS!
See my list posted above for what I have, I am out of Lemon Sauce, CHRISTOPHER, ALCHEMY, & DIMENSION-for this year.
