Very nice Gerry! What is going on with that tree? Shelf Fungus, or should I even ask?

Yes, it is a fungus that every year looks like something from a science fiction story.

Susan, CD took that image of brunnera from one of my photos.

CD, that plant (brunnera) is a companion to hostas and any other shade-loving plant.

Love the brunnera! Little blue flowers that look a lot like Forget-Me-Nots but won't seed rampantly all over your garden.

Then it should be OK in mine in Colorado too. Maybe I will look for it as I make the rounds of the nurseries in the next couple of weeks. YEA the weather is finally good enough to do some gardening. Hurray! Hurray!

I was referring to zone 8 but I know someone in zone 7 who was having no luck. I would still like to try one if I can find it at a low price. It will be like an experiment. LOL.

I have several in my yard and they seem to do fine. It gets very hot and humid here in July and August, so they tend to look a little rough, but so do I when the temps hit high 90s with high humidity!

I found a yellow one last year that's pretty. I bought them as plugs so they're not very big, but they've all come back this year.

I'm all ears! Did we ever determine what kind of brunnera this is? Confused
